The Taylorstown VFD consists of 28 members. We run out of 1 station and have 6 pieces of apparatus. Our coverage area is not just Taylortown, but also Blaine township, Buffalo township, and approx. 10 miles on I-70. We not only run fire and rescue calls...but medical calls also. Last year we responded to approx. 300 incidents. We have fire training every Monday evening at 7:00 P.M. If anybody from the Taylorstown area is interested in volunteering please stop by the station or call the station for an application at (724)948-3424. I've found in out in my life that firefighting isn't just a glorious job, there's alot more to it. Sleepless nights from a 3 alarm fire at 3 o'clock in the morning, nightmares about the fatal accident you just came back from, or even the thought after a brother firefighter losses his/her life..."that could have been me!" And realizing all of this I would like to take the time to thank all of the men and women that put their lives on the line for the life of another. And most importantly to those who have lost their lives in the line of duty...I salute you all!
